How to order a Gown
Every glove, veil, scarf and gown designed at Belle Ame Couture is crafted to celebrate individuality and to bring out each wearer’s Beautiful Soul. Each piece is exceptionally crafted, no detail overlooked.
Our Process is intentionally refined and personal, ensuring your gown is effortless to wear as it is breathtaking to behold.
We understand that wedding planning can feel overwhelming, but choosing your gown should be a joyful, intimate and unforgettable moment. That is why we offer three distinct ordering experiences.
Types of Orders
Made-to-Order
Standard Australian sizing 6-20
Produced only once purchased, ensuring a more sustainable approach
Production time =6-8weeks
Does not require a consultation; Our showroom does have sample sizing available for each gown for those unsure of their size
Custom-Fit
Allows an existing Belle Ame design to be sculpted precisely to your measurements
Personal consultation, if required, toile fittings and final fitting
Custom fit surcharge does apply:
- Bridal +20%
- Formal, Bridesmaids & accessories +15%
- Minor design adjustments +5%
These surcharges reflect bespoke pattern development, additional materials and dedicated atelier time.
Production time =8-10 weeks
Bespoke Design
Fully bespoke design experience for Brides seeking something entirely their own.
Includes bespoke reception wear, bridesmaids’ dresses, wedding gowns and accessories.
Includes consultation, multiple fittings and final fittings
Production time =10-12 weeks

Bespoke commissions are accepted in limited numbers each season to honour the integrity of the atelier.
Our Process
At Belle Ame Couture, every gown is created with intention, artistry and care. Whether you select a Made-to-order or embark on a fully bespoke journey, your experience is considered, refined and personal.
Finding a Gown
We understand the importance of experiencing a silhouette before committing to a gown. Our gowns are available in sample sizing (6,10,14 &18) for brides who wish to try on a gown before ordering. These appointments are held in the studio and require a booking.
During your appointment, we will guide you in selecting the most appropriate standard size. As each sample is limited, appointments are essential.
The Custom Creation Journey
(For Custom Fit and Bespoke Design Clients)
Private Consultation
Your journey begins with a private appointment with our Head Designer, Emily. This one-on-one, free consultation allows time to discuss your occasion, any form of customisation you are looking for, and timeline. It is a relaxed and considered experience, designed to refine your vision and guide you effortlessly through the process.
Design Selection & Personalisation
You will explore Belle Ame silhouettes, fabrication options and finishing details.
For custom-fit clients, we refine an existing design to ensure it enhances your proportions and personal style.
For bespoke clients, this is where your garment begins to take form, from silhouette and structure to texture, detail and movement.
Every decision balances artistry with wearability.
Measurements and Toile Fittings
Precise measurements are taken to establish a flawless foundation. This is done during the first consultation.
A toile (structured mock-up) is created and fitted to your body, allowing the design to be sculpted to your proportions before your final fabric is cut.
This stage ensures balance, proportion and technical precision.
Creation of your gown
Once the design and fit are confirmed, your gown enters production.
Each piece is meticulously constructed with emphasis on structure, fine finishing and internal support, honouring the artisanal approach that defines Belle Ame Couture.
Final Fitting and Collection
Your experience concludes with a final fitting, where subtle refinements can be made.
Once perfected, your gown is carefully prepared for collection, pressed, packaged and ready for your moment.

We recommend placing your order as early as possible to ensure a relaxed and seamless experience.
Made to Order
6-8 weeks production time
Custom Fit
8-10 weeks, inclusive of fittings
Bespoke Design
Timelines are discussed during your initial consultation, as each gown is dependent on design complexity and fabrication.n
On Average, bespoke gowns require 10-12 weeks.
If your wedding date is approaching sooner than these time frames, please contact us before ordering to discuss availability and rush orders.
Payment Methods
To ensure your gown, the following payment structures apply:
Made to order (online)
Full payment is required at the time of purchase, plus shipping where applicable.
Made to Order (in studio)
- 50% deposit to secure your order
- 25% due 3-4 weeks after your appointment
- 25% due at final fitting or collection
Custom Fit and Bespoke Design
- 50% due following your initial consultation to commence production
- 25% due after your first toile fitting
- Remaining balance due at final fitting for collection.
All deposits are non-refundable, as each gown is made exclusively for you.
